Worldwide Coronavirus Cases Cross 86.63 Million, Death Toll at 1,873,667

London, January 07, 2021, SPA -- More than 86.63 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,873,667 have died, according to a Reuters tally.
Russia reported 23,541 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, which brought the total number of cases to 3,332,142. The number of coronavirus deaths rose by 506 in the past 24 hours, taking the national death toll to 60,457, the coronavirus crisis centre said.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany increased by 26,391 to 1,835,038 and the reported death toll rose by 1,070 to 37,607, data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases showed on Thursday.
The Czech Republic on Thursday reported 17,668 new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours in its highest daily tally, Health Ministry data showed. Deaths in the country of 10.7 million, one of Europe's worst-hit, rose by 185 to 12,621 including revisions for previous days.
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
